Woolstone Mill House, Nr. Faringdon

The weather was not cooperating, but nevertheless several carfuls of members set off from Kennington on the evening of July 5th to visit the garden of Woolstone Mill House, Faringdon. Our faith was rewarded, as, by the time we were being welcomed by Mrs Spink, the downpour had become a drizzle, and the drizzle soon gave way to patches of blue sky.
Woolstone Mill House garden has the benefit of a stream running through it on one side of the house, which allows for some relaxed planting alongside it. stream
lawnOn another side there is a long lawn stretching away from the house, with richly planted borders on either side, and a view of the White Horse from the end.
The kitchen garden is small, but beautifully designed.

 Our visit ended with drinks and delicious parmesan biscuits in the 18th-century barn. barn


The garden of Woolstone Mill House is open regularly under the National Gardens Scheme.
