 You may wonder what this has to do with horticulture! But the annual show is only 10 days after this date and by popular demand we have arranged an evening of cookery demonstrations by Darren Lomas from Templeton College and one of our local judges to encourage cookery entries in the show. Do come along pick up some tips and try your luck in the show.

 Saturday 27 September 2008. Coach Outing to Malvern Autumn Show.
Places can now be booked for this trip. Final costings are not yet available but expected to be approximately  £25.00p. Places can be booked with the treasurer on 730961. The coach will depart from Manor Grove at 0800am calling at bus stops through the village.

 Wednesday 7 May - Sunday 11 May 2009. Bulbfields Tour of Holland.
Plans are underway to run a four-night tour to Holland in May 2009. Those who attended the North Wales garden tour in June were asked to state their interest and preferences and the outcome was a strong preference for 4 nights covering a weekend. Consequently a provisional booking  has been made at the 3-star Hotel Spaander in Volendam, a picturesque old fishing village near Amsterdam. The cost, based on 45 travellers is £374 per person (sharing a double or twin room), which includes coach travel throughout, 4 nights half board hotel and entry to the Keukenhof Gardens. A full itinerary with a horticultural leaning will be available shortly. Costs have risen in the past year or so due to the increase in the value of the Euro and coach operating costs. We have sought quotes from three companies on a like-for-like basis, and are satisfied that the price represents best value. We have also secured a guaranteed price which some companies are not offering due to the fluctuation in the pound and rise in oil prices.  The hotel is part of the Best Western chain and has a number of features including an indoor swimming pool. There is a single supplement of £94.00p
