are extensive and magnificent in May. It is some years since we last
visited when we took two coaches. The all inclusive cost is £19.00p.

KHS costs and expenses.
As
members will know, the cost of membership at just £1.00p is
ridiculously low and has been fixed at this sum for many years. Given
current costs and membership there is no need to increase it. The cost
of visiting speakers has increased significantly over the years.
Consequently it was necessary to start charging £1.00p for talks and
presentations and more recently some talks have cost £2.00 dependent on
the cost of the speaker, some of whom have charged up to £100.00p. The
£1.00p membership fee and fund raising activities such as the plant
sale and raffles raises the additional money needed to cover the cost
of staging these events and represents excellent value for money. For
example Abingdon Horticultural Society family membership is £10.00p,
KHS for two would be £2.00p. Committee members routinely incur
administration costs and donate raffle prizes free of charge.
