Landscapes of North Wales: Friday 6 -9th June 2008.

KHS is planning a three night holiday to north Wales on the above dates and has a preliminary booking at the Grand Hotel, Llandudno. This hotel is owned by Brittania Hotels, the same company that we stayed with in Folkestone in 2006. Due to the demand for hotels, we are only able to secure three nights this year. The booking is being made through Norman Allen Group Travel, (who are the agents that Plastows have used for us the past). The all inclusive cost: three night’s half-board and all coach transport is projected to be approximately £170.00p. This figure is not confirmed. Single supplements to be confirmed but will not exceed £38.00p. As with all KHS trips, admissions to gardens are extra and paid for en-route. The draft itinerary is set out below with a booking form which should be returned to me as soon as possible, together with a deposit of £30.00p per person. Please note that this is a provisional booking form to secure your place and does not constitute a contract with Norman Allen, who will require one of their forms to be completed later. In the event that insufficient number book, the deposit will be returned in full.

Friday 6 June

Depart Oxford at 7.30am, stopping en-route at the Garden House, Wrexham. A five acre garden which includes shrubs and herbaceous planting in varied colour schemes; rose pergolas; sculptured garden; lily pond with Monet style bridge. Continue to Llandudno for three night half-board stay at the Grand Hotel.

Sat 7 June

Visit to Bodnant Garden, described as the finest garden in Wales situated on high ground above the River Conway.  Garden has a number of notable features including in early June, a long laburnum arch, lily terrace and stepped pergola. NB if this better than Powis, it must be good!

Sun  8 June

Visit to Plas Newydd. National Trust garden set in Anglesey. The lawns sweep down to the Menai Straits. Features include Australasian arboretum, herbaceous beds, ferny grotto and terraced gardens.

Mon 9 June

Return to Oxford to arrive late afternoon, visit en-route to Powis Castle and Gardens. Those who travelled with us to mid Wales in 2004 will remember this magnificent jewel in the crown. It is simply a must for a second visit.
